Wine Advocate 88-90 / 100 byNeal Martinthe5/2/2017 The 2016 Chantegrive had a slightly odd bouquet with a light geranium scent that I found offputting. The palate is medium-bodied and was much more correct, with firm tannin and crisp acidity, some lovely mulberry and spicebox notes towards the finish. The aromatics corrected themselves with aeration and I ended up appreciating this Graves more than I initially thought.
Jean-Marc QUARIN 14 / 20 byJean-Marc Quarinthe4/28/2017 Vin coloré, au nez fruité, à la bouche fruitée, de corps et de longueur moyens.
The Wine Cellar Insider 87-89 / 100 byJeff Levethe4/27/2017 Medium bodied, with a smoky core of soft, polished, red fruits and tobacco, this early drinking charmer will be ready to taste on release.
Vinous 86-88 / 100 byAntonio Gallonithe4/26/2017 Dark fruit, torrefaction, smoke and chocolate give the 2016 de Chantegrive its distinctive personality. This is an especially bold, sumptuous wine built on forward fruit and lushness. Tasted two times.
matthewjukes.com 15,5 / 20 byMatthew Jukesthe4/25/2017 Bright and clean this is a huge step forward for this oft dull red wine. Still clunky and in need of a polish, this is a positive move. 15.5
Jancis Robinson 16 / 20 byJancis Robinsonthe4/21/2017 Extremely dark crimson. Very rich, dark, fruit-compote nose. Lacks a little freshness. I'd drink this sooner rather than later. Drink 2022-2030
Jamessuckling.com 91-92 / 100 byJames Sucklingthe4/5/2017 Firm and silky with berry, stone and chocolate character. Medium body, a pretty depth of fruit and a fresh finish. Shows beauty already. Same as the 2015 in quality.
