Tasted three times with similar notes, Beychevelle's 1994 is an elegant, light-bodied wine revealing herbal, red cherry scents, and firm, earthy, spicy flavors that are presently dominated by harsh, underripe tannin. Although it should turn out to merit the above rating, the wine's lack of personality and slight, hard style are worrisome.
