Wow. This is really well structured with beautiful berry, dark-chocolate, mineral and spice character. It’s full and tannic but polished and reserved. Excellent. Better in 2016.

A pleasant tobacco leaf note melds with a core of steeped currant and plum fruit, backed by a fleshy, tar-lined finish. Merlot. Drink now.

Deep purple-ruby. Very ripe nose features blackberry jam, chocolate, coffee and underbrush. Then slightly more refined on the palate, with strong acidity lifting the black fruit and underbrush flavors. Not in a classic Bordeaux mold but many will love its ripe charms.

A consistently well-made, fruit-driven wine dominated by Merlot, the 2011 Marsau offers up aromas of mocha, blueberries, sweet cherries, loamy soil, roasted herbs and hints of licorice and camphor. It possesses crisp acids, a medium-bodied mouthfeel and a soft, silky finish. Enjoy it in its first 5-6 years of life.

Robuste et persistant, ce vin offre un tanin encore un peu rigide qui s'affinera dans les prochains mois.

Rich deep black cherry color. Perfumed red fruit - very ripe cherries and plums. A fruit bomb on the nose. Sweet and pretty ripe but not overly so. A touch overripe but creamy textured on the palate, full flavored and juicy. Well structured and with the emphasis on the fruit, finishing fresh with some savory character. High acidity sticks out a little on the finish.

Reserved in character but adequate fruit and fine tannins. Acidity enhances the grip on the finish.

Focused, with good bitter cherry, blood orange and plum fruit flavors and a briary edge adding definition on the finish. Nice range here.—J.M.

Polished tannins with fruit that gives a licorice, stone, and berry character. Chewy finish. Shows structure for the finish and sweet fruit.
