The 2014 Fayat is quite bold and savory, with plenty of black cherry, sage, lavender, new leather and juniper berry nuances. The flavors are vibrant and direct in an immediate if somewhat quirky Pomerol that will drink well relatively early. The fresh, cool style of the year is quite evident.

The Château Fayat 2014 has a slightly smudged bouquet compared to its peers, though it gains delineation in the glass and musters light floral scents. The palate is sweet and ripe on the entry with bold, soy-tinged red fruit, but it feels rather over-egged on the finish.

Blackish purple. Some vaguely mineral skein running through this wine. And nicely managed fruit that dominates the well-tamed tannins. Though there is no hiding from the acidity. Impressive persistence.
