Tasted at the Brane-Cantenac vertical at the château, the 2007 Brane-Cantenac is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc matured in 60% new French oak. The nose is very entrancing and pure with floral, rose petal scents infusing the red berries, all very well defined and for the vintage, more generous than you would expect. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, crisp acidity, a gentle grip in the mouth with good body and persistence on the finish. Compared to the 2008, it is de facto that the 2007 has the upper hand and is a great success for the vintage. Tasted April 2015.

Good deep red. Aromas of currant, plum, minerals, licorice, smoke, pepper and flowers. Nicely delineated if a bit tight and ungiving, with a floral topnote contributing to the wine's high-pitched character. Finishes with a firm tannic edge. I wanted a bit more pliancy, but then that's the case with many other '07s from the Medoc.

Moderately saturated red-ruby. Raspberry, coffee, sexy spices and smoky torrefaction on the nose. Supple and fine-grained, in an easygoing, rather plump style. Offers a restrained sweetness and noteworthy elegance. Not hugely ripe but has class. Finishes with broad, dusty, slightly dry tannins.

Parfaitement ciselé et précis en bouche, le 2007 est issu d'une très sévère sélection. Tramé par de très beaux cabernet sauvignon qui représentent 53% de l'assemblage, le vin est dense, juteux et exprime beaucoup de fruit. 'Nous avons expérimenté un nouveau système de tri qui nous a permis de ne rentrer que des baies parfaites' explique Henri Lurton, le propriétaire du château. Brane se distingue par ses tanins très fondus, au grain fin et à la grande fraîcheur.

La couleur est rouge sombre. Nez frais, fruité et subtilement aromatique. En bouche, le vin se distingue par une entrée plutôt ample pour le millésime, puis le vin se développe fruité, sur un toucher plutôt magique. Il fond en finale et s'achève sur des tannins fins. Voici donc un vin distingué pour la qualité des arômes, mais aussi convenablement structuré. Il est bien difficile à cracher. S'approche d'un style bourguignon.

Like other wines, this has a slight fishy scent on the nose although that dissipates with a few swirls. Blackberries, bilberry and a touch of cassis. Nice definition. The palate is fleshier than other Margaux, although it lacks a little structure and weight. Sweet ripe black cherries with a touch of greenness underneath and missing some finesse towards the soft finish. Tasted April 2008.
