Based on 59% Sauvignon Blanc and 41% Semillon, the 2023 Château Bouscaut Blanc offers up an exotic, complex, medium-bodied style with plenty of character. The aromatics include some honeyed lemon and citrus notes as well as a kiss of spicy wood, and it has the more fruit-loaded style of the vintage, with plenty of acidity.

White peach, vanilla, lemon curd, spice, and pineapple aromas are all over the place. On the palate, the wine is zesty, spicy, crisp, and racy, with a juicy, yellow citrus finish that leaves you with a hint of spice, and marzipan on the backend. The wine is a blend of 59% Sauvignon Blanc, with 41% Semillon. 13.5% ABV. Drink from 2025-2032. 93 Pts.

A healthy, sculpted balance of citrus, elderflower blossom, slate and cloves. This is enjoyable, with lift while still concentrated and on estate signature. 30% new oak for ageing, in 400l barrels. 40hl/ha yield. There is no Bouscaut red this year, by the way, because the Merlot was badly impacted by mildew. Instead they are releasing a Fragments of Bouscaut in bottle, a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The 2023 Bouscaut Blanc is terrific. Hints of passion fruit, tangerine peel and spice confer an exotic, tropical feel that plays off the wine's creamy, resonant textures. This is quite pretty, not to mention impeccable in its balance.

Fresh and vibrant with good concentration of fruit. Notes of ripe lemon and crunchy pineapple. Medium-bodied with good volume and length.

Due to a mildew invasion affecting the red grapes, particularly the Merlots, Château Bouscaut produced only a white wine this year. The 2023 Bouscaut Blanc reveals a delicate, perfumed bouquet of confit citrus, white peach, lime tree leaves and spring flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless and generous palate with bright acids, a fleshy core of fruit and a long, mouthwatering finish. This is a blend of 41% Sémillon and 59% Sauvignon Blanc.
