90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc Issu de graves sablonneuses Le Benjamin compte aujourd'hui 90 % de Merlot. Il est essentiellement issu de jeunes vignes. Le bouquet est invitant et affiche une belle maturité avec des nuances de baies noires et de réglisse. Belle densité en attaque avec d'emblée une évidente harmonie entre fraîcheur et vigueur. Le vin est élégant, crémeux et soutenu par des tannins suaves et parfaitement intégrés. Un vin structuré et gourmand. 2027-2037 91/100

The 2022 Benjamin de Beauregard emerges from the lighter soils on the property, those where gravelly/sandy soils dominate. Pretty floral notes and bright fruit are front and center. This delicate, vibrant Pomerol is quite the charmer. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Perfumed blackcurrants, ripe and scented, richly aromatic. Nice bite and grip to this, it’s sleek and well defined, you can feel they treaded lightly, but it's lacking a touch more push from start to finish. Shy right now, but this is delicately presented and I like the coolness and freshness with an appealing soft salinity. Ageing 18 months, 45% in new french oak barrels. (15% in 500L). Harvest September 8 - September 21.

This second wine comes from a section of the Beauregard vineyard with more sand, a particularly challenging soil type in 2022, and this is enjoyable, with plenty of black tea, cloves and extremely ripe blackberry and fig fruits, a ittle drying on the finish, I suggest drinking within the next three to eight years. 40% of overall production, harvest September 5 through to 22, aged in 25% new oak, plus terra cotta jars.

The 2022 Le Benjamin de Beauregard is a very pleasant, fruity second wine. Succulent red cherry, plum, mocha and spice give this juicy Saint-Émilion tons of immediacy and overall appeal. The 2022 is a charmer, that is for sure. Drinking window : 2025-2034
