The 2022 Bellegrave (Pomerol) has a slightly savory bouquet that opens nicely in the glass, though it’s a bit more feral than I expected compared to the barrel showing. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins and modest weight but it seems to have lost a little brightness on the finish. I wonder if there is a better sample out there?

Spiced plums, iron and minerals follow through to a round, medium-bodied palate with silky tannins and a linear, smoothly rendered finish. Refined, juicy and pretty long. 75% merlot and 25% cabernet franc. From organically grown grapes. Already attractive but can hold.

The 2022 Bellegrave is a powerful, vibrant Pomerol. Graphite, new leather, dark fruit and lavender unfurl in the glass. The 2022 has plenty of energy to match its broad, ample feel. Even with all of its obvious intensity, Bellegrave is so expressive. The blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc works well.

The 2022 Bellegrave has a nicely composed bouquet with sorbet-fresh red fruit, orange pith and fresh fig. There is a sense of liveliness here. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, gentle grip and structured with a saline finish. A solid Pomerol that should develop with style.

Nuances de graphite et de baies noires complétées par une touche de réglisse dans le bouquet de Bellegrave. En bouche le vin est crémeux et plutôt élancé. Les tannins suaves lui confèrent une agréable sucrosité et l'expression fruitée du bouquet se retrouve bien en milieu et fin de bouche. Un vin agréable, invitant que l'on pourra apprécier dans sa jeunesse.

The 2022 Château Bellegrave could have some upside. It's a promising Pomerol loaded with notions of black raspberries, cassis, spice, and tobacco. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and textured, its tannins are integrated and ripe, and it has good mid-palate depth and outstanding length. 90 - 92+
