Château Beaumont’s signature smoothness shines particularly brightly in the hot, dry vintage of 2022. The tannins are rich and refined, and the aromas are clear and delicate. The fragrances of black cherry and black plum are juicy, without any greenness of previous vintages. After a sip, the lingering essence of rose petals dances on the palate. This is truly a Merlot blend that invites generous sipping.

Grand Millésimes de France, director Anthony Yaigre, well located estate in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, 28hl/h yield from sandy-gravel soils.

I loved the 2022 Château Beaumont, a richly textured, medium to full-bodied, concentrated 2022 that does everything right. Darker currants, smoky cherries, spicy wood, and leather-like notes all define the aromatics, and it's nicely balanced, with plenty of mid-palate depth and velvety tannins. Count me in as a fan. The 2022 is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot.

The 2022 Beaumont has a tightly wound nose with blackberry, briar and light tobacco scents unfolding nicely with each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins. It’s quite structured and firm at the moment but will loosen up with time. Sapid and fresh, this is a delightful, traditional-styled claret that should age well in bottle.

Ripe yet fresh and refined on the nose, showing cassis, berries, plums, a touch of wet leaves and dark chocolate. Juicy and tight on the palate with medium body and firm, chalky tannins. Good length and balance here. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot. Drink in 2026.

The 2022 Beaumont turned out beautifully. A burst of dark blue/black-toned fruit opens first, followed by complicating floral and savory notes from the Cabernet Sauvignon, which dominates the blend. Firm but well-integrated tannins give the Beaumont terrific energy and drive.

Clear and pure, a lovely clean juiciness though the lightness in terms of fruit density doesn't quite match the tannins, which although are fine are quite present and dense with touches of liquorice, clove, cinnamon and dark chocolate that dominate and make this quite serious. It doesn't feel overworked, but it's still a bit compact and spiced with clear power underneath, although there is refinement overall. Tasted twice. Harvest 19 September-5th October. Yields 28hl/ha.

The distinctive sense of smoothness in Château Beaumont is especially prominent in the arid, hot vintage of 2022. Tannins are rich yet refined, the nose is clear and delicate. The juicy scents of black cherry and black plum shine on the palate. Not only is there a lack of greenness found in past vintages, but a lingering fragrance remains after each sip. It is the kind of delightful Merlot blend that can be drunk even during En Primeurs tastings.

The 2022 Beaumont has a classy bouquet with blackberry, wild hedgerow, iodine and subtle iris flower scents. The oak is neatly integrated, and it retains delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, fleshy and almost creamy in texture. With good depth and light spice, the 2022 is cohesive on the finish. This will be a thoroughly enjoyable Beaumont that should age well in bottle. Tasted thrice with consistent notes.

Le bouquet de Beaumont est plutôt classique avec des notes de réglisse, de baies noires et d'épices douces suivies d’une rafraîchissante touche d'eucalyptus. En bouche, le vin gagne peu à peu en dimension. Les tannins,qui apparaissent à partir du milieu de bouche, sont compacts, un peu fermes, mais pas agressifs, tandis que la structure acide confère du tempérament. Un vin de caractère à la finale persistante.

Tasted on two separate occasions, the 2022 Château Beaumont is a beautiful Haut-Médoc based on 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot mostly from sandy soils. Given the challenging conditions of the vintage, it would be easy to assume this would be a subpar release (the vintage was particularly challenging for sandy soils), but you'd be mistaken. This offers impressive purity in its red, blue, and black fruits as well as notes of chocolate and scorched earth. With medium body, present yet ripe tannins, and outstanding length, it's going to drink well immediately on release and evolve for 10-12 years or more.

The 2022 Beaumont is a bold Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Supérior. A burst of dark cherry, plum, gravel and incense gives the 2022 its hearty personality. The 2022 is an unusual blend that features more Cabernet Sauvignon than the norm. Yields are down to 28 hectoliters per hectare instead of the more typical or so through a combination of frost, hail and dehydration, which adds to the wine’s punchy, explosive feel.
