The 2021 Baron de Brane, which represents around 40% of the crop, has an open-knit nose of raspberry coulis and wild strawberry scents, a touch of warm gravel in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins on the entry and quite pronounced graphite notes on the finish. Give this 3–4 years once in bottle.

The 2021 Baron de Brane is a soft, fruity wine that will drink well right out of the gate. Succulent black cherry, cloves, licorice and new leather are front and center. Pretty floral and savory accents liven up the finish. This is nicely done.

Leuchtendes Rubin. Die Nase ist feinduftig und rotfruchtig, zeigt Himbeeren und Kirschen. Im Gaumen saftig, klar und rein, die Frucht ist delikat, die Tannine sind fein verwoben, leichter Körper, fruchtig und frisch. Im Abgang von mittlerer Länge. The 2021 Baron de Brane wafts from the glass with notes of minty blackberries, loamy soil and licorice. Medium-bodied, fleshy and lively, with good depth at the core, powdery tannins and a nicely defined finish, it will offer a broad drinking window.

Real mint, eucalyptus-touched cherries and blackcurrants on the nose, black pepper and bramble aromas with soft perfume too. The texture is so smooth and this has excellent weight on the palate with the structure noticeable and appealing. The flavour fills the mouth and this has good grip and tension, the tannins seamless but the depth settling on the mid-palate with the spicy as well as mineral backbone running through the wine. Gorgeous clarity here and just a general feeling that this is really well made! A top second wine, so charming and so beguiling. Really approachable now but with the weight, structure and intensity to age. Great freshness too. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.63pH.
