The 2018 Angelique de Monbousquet is composed of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it slips easily out of the glass with open-knit scents of baked blackberries, boysenberries and stewed black plums, plus hints of underbrush, bouquet garni and iodine with a medicinal waft. The full-bodied palate has bags of black fruit preserves with a chewy texture and plenty of freshness, finishing just a tad rustic.

Aromas of ripe berry and dark chocolate with some coffee bean, following through to a full body with round, creamy tannins. Stone and walnut undertones. Slightly woody finish. Give it two or three years to soften. Try after 2023.

The 2018 Angélique de Monbousquet has a dense and powerful bouquet with precocious black cherry and boysenberry jam aromas. The palate is very powerful with saturated tannins, dense black fruit laced with clove and graphite with a grippy finish that just needs more freshness and delineation.

Deeply colored with notes of smoked black cherries, chocolate, graphite, and crushed rocks, it's rich, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully textured, with plenty of tannins and a great finish.

The 2018 Angelique de Monbousquet is blended of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep purple-black in color, it is a little closed and broody to begin, soon popping up to give bright black cherries, black raspberries and wild blueberry scents plus touches of tar, tilled soil and violets. Full-bodied with a firm, fine-grained texture and bright freshness cutting through the dense black fruit layers, it offers a very pretty perfume and a long, pure finish.
