Climatic conditions: 

It's hard to believe that the making of a great wine is as much a matter of chance as it is of terroir and winemaking expertise. A changeable start to the summer, which had no impact on the plant dynamics of our vineyards, sowed doubts about the quality potential of the harvest, but two successive and unprecedented heatwaves turned the vintage on its head. A vintage of elegant wines that will leave a lasting mark on the history of the estate. At the end of a generous harvest, albeit less opulent than anticipated, density, amplitude and tessitura remain the watchwords of the 2023 vintage

Born from the fine, gravelly soil so typical of its appellation, Alter Ego continues to develop the delicacy and sophisticated texture of great Margaux wines year after year.
