An estate that continues to produce brilliant wines in every vintage, the 2021 Château Poesia offers a terrific perfume of black cherries, raspberries, and spring flowers, with a beautiful sense of chalky minerality on the palate. Medium-bodied and very much in the style of the vintage, it has wonderful balance, supple, ripe tannins, good freshness, and a great finish. It's going to drink nicely right out of the gate yet have 15 years of prime drinking as well

The 2021 Poesia is composed of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, aged in 50-60% new oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it slowly emerges from the glass with pronounced notes of warm plums, blackberry pie, and garrigue, leading to hints of mossy tree bark, crushed rocks, and wild sage. Medium-bodied, the palate has a solid frame of grainy tannins and well-integrated acidity, supporting the tight-knit black fruits, finishing on a lingering mineral note.

With good richness in color, you find chocolate, black cherry, mint leaf, crushed rock and flowers in the nose. Earthy, soft, lush and polished, there is a nice finesse along with fruit and freshness in the finish. The wine is made from a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Harvesting took place October 6-October 9. Drink from 2024-2039. 92-94

The 2021 Poesia is a blend of all the parcels this year because the quality was so uniform, harvested over three days, October 7–9. It has a touch more fruit concentration than the Barde-Haut, featuring dark berries, crushed stone and a touch of melted tar. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, a slightly granular texture, gentle grip and hints of brown spices and white pepper toward the finish. Give this Poesia three to four years in bottle.

The 2021 Poesia is a firm, closed Saint-Émilion endowed with quite a bit of energy and sheer power. Dark fruit and brooding shades of gravel, spice, menthol and licorice give Poesia its distinctive personality. The tannins are a bit imposing at this stage. Élevage will be crucial here.

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc Mittleres Rubin. Expressive, florale Nase, feines Toasting, rote Frucht. Im Gaumen weich und rund im Auftakt, feinkörniges Tannin, knackige Frucht, der Wein hat eine gute Struktur, wirkt vertikal und hallt im Abgang lange nach. Dürfte früh Spass machen und hat doch das Zeug, einige Jahre länger liegen zu bleiben. 2025-2040 (Verkostet im April 2022. Château Barde-Haut)

Nez un peu plus boisé que les vins de la famille, tout en restant élégant, frais avec des notes de violette, de prune, de fruits noirs frais et une pointe de réglisse. Bouche possédant une charge tannique importante, assez ferme avec toute la puissance calcaire qui se laisse ici entrevoir. Les élevages seront décisifs.

Medium to full-bodied, bright and tightly wound, with powdery tannins and a taut, mineral profile, it reflects the thin soils and late-ripening conditions of this sector—as well as a blend that includes fully 30% Cabernet Franc.
