It seems almost Burgundian in style with delicate and fresh aromas of dried berries such as strawberries and raspberries. Full to mediumbody, it show super fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Complex yet very delicate. Best after 2013.

This is an elegant, sexy, aromatic style of Le Pin, with a dark plum/purple-tinged color and a seductive nose of caramel, mocha, jammy black cherries and currants, as well as hints of wood and earth. Medium to full-bodied and round, with no hard edges, this lush style of wine should drink nicely for another 15 or more years. Drink 2011-2026

This is all silky and perfumed, with stunningly pretty raspberry, plum and cherry fruit flavors that glide effortlessy over perfumed spice and floral notes. It's almost too easy, but then the latent grip checks in, with black tea, clove and ganache taking over. Beautiful. Drink now through 2020. - J.M

(100% merlot). Ruby-red. Captivating, dense nose offers very pure aromas of violet, ripe raspberry, black cherry, plum and minerals. Incredibly rich and exotic on the palate, with a compellingly pure black cherry flavor complicated by notes of sweet licorice, cinnamon and minerals. Finishes sweet, broad and extremely long, and though slightly more tannic than usual, the tannins are very smooth and polished. This is the only property in Pomerol on mainly gravelly soil that did as well as those situated on more clay-rich ground, which tended to make the best wines in Pomerol in '08.

Im Gaumen rotbeerig-burgundisch, Red-Currant-Pastillen, gekochte rote Kirschen und süsse Grenadinenoten, fast rahmiges, mit Karamell und Butter verschmelzendes Tannin. Die Kunst des Jahrgangs, die Frucht zu bewahren, ist hier in verschwenderischer Weise gelungen. 2015 – 2028

This wine had finished malolactic fermentation, but it was still very primary and largely unevolved. There will be approximately 525 cases of this 100% Merlot in 2008. A dense purple color is followed by notes of cassis, kirsch, plums, and hints of underbrush as well as roasted coffee beans. The wine possesses superb concentration, beautiful freshness, and an opulent, dense style with exceptionally sweet tannin. It will be an outrageously good Pomerol to consume over the next 25 years.

Le cru possède son caractère exubérant et charmeur habituel, avec une grande maturité de fruit et un côté très crémeux en bouche. Sa fraîcheur le tend et lui confère une grande élégance, soulignée par une touche minérale. Le vin est précis, avec un bel éclat et beaucoup de saveurs. Une grande réussite à un prix sans doute stratosphérique.

Started the harvest on 1st October in three shifts, with the young vines and waited three of four days with the older vine. This has an intriguing nose – usually Le Pin is all sweetness and light at this stage, but here, it is deeper, darker and broodier – perhaps even more complex than the outstanding 2006. Brambly black fruits, a touch of blueberry and wild hedgerow, crushed stones. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, imbued with the same sense of minerality that I think their vines are now imparting. An enthralling sense of energy on the finish. Couleur rouge sombre. Superbe nez fin, subtil, fruité et complexe. Il est à peine truffé. Bouche séveuse à souhait, à l'onctuosité magnifique. Avant de fondre au palais, le vin offre une note de violette pure, rare à Pomerol cette année. Un grand et beau délice. Et surtout, une belle différence. Le vin sera100% merlot. Il est issu d'une parcelle de 9 ans et d'une parcelle plus âgée. Le rendement est de 34hl/ha.

Mid crimson. Rich and vegy and succulent. Very sweet and complete and lively. So polished and juicy yet great vivacity. Great zest as well as sweetness. Great stuff , all the way through. Very smooth and lots of sleek quality. Much the most energetic vintage of Pin I remember. Not much higher than 13% alcohol but definitely Le Pin in terms of richness. Drink 2015-25

Approaches the 2006 in quality (which I rate above the 2005). With roughly 10% 'vin de presse' in the blend tasted, the wine showed a density and generosity of fruit and the type of vitality and complexity Merlot achieves only in good years and on the top terroirs. Drink 2016-2030.

Complex aromas of blackberries, cherries, chocolate and violets. Very Burgundian nose. Full-bodied, with a wonderful texture and sweet fruit. So much chocolate and silky texture. Really beautiful and mesmerizing. Superlong.
