I haven’t encountered a Pastourelle with such a pure aroma, which is more compelling than any previous vintage. Upon swirling the glass, it emits a rich and sweet fragrance of hawthorn cake, tempting me to indulge in a sip. The palate is refreshing and the tannins are delicate, leaving a sweetness of crushed strawberry and a scent of rosewater on the finish. It is a fine and approachable boutique Pauillac wine.

Bursting with notes of sweet dark berries, plums, licorice and cigar wrapper, the 2022 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is a medium to full-bodied, rich and ample wine that's juicy, layered and exuberant. This will offer a broad and flamboyant drinking window.

Fleshy and flashy merlot, good expansion through the palate, spice, cloves, incense, well balanced. 25.5% of overall crop. No new oak but fully aged in barrel except for 7% amphora.

Violets, cassis, ripe black cherries, and graphite all emerge from the 2022 Pastourelle De Clerc Milon, a ripe, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and lively second wine that has tons to love. As with the Grand Vin, it's undeniably one of the best examples of this cuvée to date. It will keep for two decades if well stored.

Les notes de cerises noires et de réglisse soulignent le côté invitant, mais leur fraîcheur fait également office de gage d'avenir. Dense et crémeux en attaque, le vin adopte un profil linéaire et précis. Ses tannins, élégants et parfaitement intégrés, oscillent entre les côtés suaves et rigoureux tout en conférant une saine austérité qui plébiscite la fraîcheur et la persistance de la finale. The 2022 Pastorelle de Clerc Milon has an open-knit bouquet with black plum, cassis and light pencil shaving scents, with some blue fruit notes emerging with aeration. The palate is well balanced, juicy, ripe and rounded in texture. It feels more Merlot-driven when, in fact, it is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon. The warmth of the vintage shows through a little, giving it a sense of approachability. This can be drunk after one or two years in bottle.

A tight center-palate to this juicy red, with plum, chocolate and cedar aromas that follow through to a medium body with creamy tannins and a savory finish. Delicious. A blend of 52% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot, with carmenere and petit verdot. Very attractive now, but will age nicely.

The 2022 Pastourelle de Clerc Milon is packed with blue/purplish fruit, sweet spice, leather and incense. Plush and opulent to the core, the Pastourelle will be a fun wine to drink in its youth while the fruit remains vibrant. The significant presence of Merlot in the blend (40%) comes through loud and clear in the wine's forward, slightly brash personality. I find the tannins a bit rough around the edges, especially on the finish, where heavy torrefaction notes from the oak are also quite present today.

Massy black fruits, brambles and cherries. Nicely fragrant and open on the nose. Juicy and bright, mouthwatering, quite lean, tannins are at the fore, but quite bright so you get the texture with some vibrancy but nothing harsh. Lots of flavour and concentration but also cool blue fruits and some sharp almost bitter and spiced touches that give the nuance. Forward, bright, energetic, very easy to understand and easy to enjoy. Balanced with a touch of creamy, powdery tannins on the finish. You feel the power for sure, punchy and concentrated but really well delivered. 3.8% press wine. 2% Carmenère and 1% Petit Verdot complete the blend. 3.81pH.

The 2022 Pastorelle de Clerc Milon is deep in hue. It is bold and concentrated on the nose and unleashes copious black cherry and cassis aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and good grip. This is pretty tannic for a Pastorelle, with a saline, cracked black pepper-tinged finish and slight dryness.

It offers up scents of crushed black plums, juicy blackberries, and mulberries, followed by hints of pencil shavings, underbrush, and cumin seed. The full-bodied palate is rich yet has plenty of freshness, featuring expressive black fruit preserves flavors and a spicy kick to the finish. pH 3.81, TPI 71.

The 2022 Pastourelle De Clerc Milon is a full-bodied, ripe, straight-up sexy second wine offering red and black fruits, an expansive, layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's going to shine right out of the gate. This second wine is 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, with the balance Cabernet Franc, Carmenère, and Petit Verdot, brought up all in used barrels.

Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice and sweet spice are all amplified nicely. The 2022 is an easygoing wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Drinking window : 2025-2037
