The 2023 Montviel has a very fragrant bouquet with a mixture of red and black fruit, touches of truffle and undergrowth in the background, lending complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, just a patina of oak to be subsumed, nicely focused with a tender finish. Enjoy over the next 12 to 15 years.

Minty, with cherries, blackberries and graphite. The palate is round and velvety, with focused tannins that frame the precise dark fruit, showing concentration balanced by a delineated structure. Better from 2027, but already a joy to taste. Drink or hold.

Das Bouquet von Montviel 2023 hat Charakter! Es offenbart die sortentypische Seite des Cabernet Franc durch blumige Nuancen, die von Noten von schwarzer Johannisbeere und Brombeere ergänzt werden. Am Gaumen zeigt der Wein Frische, gleich im Auftakt. Seine samtenen Tannine bilden ein gutes Rückgrat, während die Säurestruktur dem Abgang eine saftige Seite verleiht. Ein schmackhafter und überzeugender Montviel!

Red plums, spicy incense, and spring flower notes all emerge from the 2023 Château Montviel, a medium-bodied, supple, elegant 2023 offering beautiful ripeness, ultra-fine tannins, and a good spine of acidity. It's very much in the more lively, elegant style of the vintage while still bringing plenty of ripeness. It should easily be outstanding.

Sweet, juicy, fresh, black cherries, with licorice, and a touch of cocoa in the nose and on the palate. Medium-bodied, bright, and vibrant, with a soft, elegant touch in the finish. The wine will offer pleasure on release. The wine blends 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc. 14% ABV. Drink from 2026-2037. 90-92 Pts.

Deep inky colour, this is pretty reserved on the aromatics, well stacked in terms of construction and architecture, but with a velvety texture, and enjoyable bitter chocolate, cocoa bean, fennel and campfire on the finish. Vignobles Parent.

The 2023 Montviel is a juicy, plump Pomerol to drink over the medium-term while the fruit remains vibrant. Succulent red plum, cedar, tobacco, mint and blood orange meld together in a juicy, racy Pomerol that is all charm. Silky, plush tannins wrap it up in style. Montviel is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, aged in once-used barrels from Le Gay and La Violette. It's hard to go wrong here.

The 2023 Montviel takes time to cohere in the glass, revealing black cherries and raspberry coulis. It’s not complex, but it is open and expressive. The palate is ripe and sweet on the entry, with slightly powdery tannins and fine weight. There’s a touch of piquancy on the finish that I appreciate. Enjoy this over the next decade.

Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections. Fine blackberryish fruit, a hint of cherries and liquorice, a touch of fine oak, orange zest underneath. Juicy, sweet and with good freshness, fine, supporting tannins, rich in finesse, mineral, blackberries in the aftertaste, good length and certain ageing potential.
