The 2015 Lacoste-Borie is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. It has a slightly muted bouquet, tobacco-tinged black fruit that gently opens in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, foursquare in the mouth with that tobacco theme continuing. Linear, a little aloof at the moment, I would hope that more flesh can come through towards the spicy finish that cuts away a little swiftly.

The second wine of Grand-Puy-Lacoste, the Lacoste-Borie offers good depth and plenty of immediacy. Plum, mocha and dark spice notes give the Lacoste-Borie much of its succulence. This plump, juicy Pauillac should drink well with minimal cellaring. Tasted two times.
