Clair, détendu, très souple, tout en légèreté, le second vin de Haut-Bailly affirme son style sans coup férir dans le millésime 2024, moins fondé sur le merlot (45 %) que le précédent. La matière est fluide mais parfumée, charmante, à la limite de l’évanescence et cependant de saveur assez persistante.

Sour cherries and some floral scents on the nose, rose buds, black tea, sandalwood, mix of red and black berries. Soft, chalky tannins with bright acidity but overall a calm, and collected palale. Cola, blueberry and liquorice. Feels refined and gently presented with a focused core. Well integrated elements with balance and harmony. There’s brightness and intensity but also a relaxed feeling. A good second wine in 2024. 2% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. 3.64pH. 30% second wine. 20% third wine.

Deep garnet-purple colored. Notes of raspberry pie and Morello cherries spill from the glass, giving way to hints of rose bud tea, cinnamon stick, and pencil lead. The medium-bodied palate is juicy and soft-textured with just enough freshness and a spicy lift on the finish.

The second wine of Haut-Bailly, the 2024 Haut Bailly II, is based on 45% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc that's resting in 30% new barrels. It's a pretty, medium-bodied effort with lively red fruits, flowers, spicy nuances, soft, supple tannins, and a forward, charming style that will drink beautifully right out of the gate.

Sehr helles Rubin, fast schon Pinot-artige Farbe; auch im Duft burgundisch anmutend, frisch, rotfruchtig, mit floralen Noten und einem Hauch Tabak; der Gaumen ist leichtfüssig, reife, rote Beerenfrucht, feines, nicht überbordendes Tannin, rassige Säure, gute Länge; im Abgang mit Walderdbeeren und einer fast schon pfeffrigen Würze. Viel Trinkfluss in diesem Wein.
