The 2019 Château de Fieuzal has a complex nose, a mélange of red and black fruit, crushed stone and a touch of black truffle. Serious. The palate is beautifully balanced with firm, quite "solid" tannins, a Pessac-Léognan built for the long-term with a sapid, almost briny finish. This is the best de Fieizal in recent years. Gently smell the glass, there are hundreds of roses blooming in front of me. Rhubarb jam and strawberry juice are blowing on my nose, coupled with delicate cinnamon and licorice after swirling the glass. 65% Merlot creates a pleasant and charming sweetness, beautiful enough to blow your mind. 2019 is Thomas Duclos' first vintage as Fieuzal's consultant; lower alcohol, fresher acidity, and juicier taste will be trademarks in the following vintages of Fieuzal. ???????,?????????????????????????????,???????????????????????65%?????????????,??????????2019?Thomas Duclos?????????????,?????,??????,??????????Fieuzal???????

Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, plums, cloves and iodine. Medium-bodied with sinewy tannins. Layered and velvety with supple and fruity character. Juicy finish. Drink from 2024.

Blackcurrants, smoked earth, cedarwood, and foresty, herbal notes all emerge from the 2019 Château De Fieuzal, a medium-bodied, elegant, balanced 2019. It opens up nicely with time in the glass, has a classic, focused, structured style, good (though maybe not great) concentration, and outstanding length. It's a beautiful, elegant, classic wine from this estate that will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15+. It's well worth seeking out.

Perfumed and elegant, the 2019 de Fieuzal wafts from the glass with aromas of blackberries, licorice, coniferous forest floor and incense. Medium to full-bodied, lively and charming, with a pretty core of fruit, powdery tannin and a saline finish, it's a seamless, vibrant Pessac that—like its white counterpart—reflects the progress this 80-hectare Pessac-Léognan estate is making. It's a sleeper of the vintage.

Aromatically, with little effort, you find chocolate, flowers, espresso, smoke, black cherries and plums. The wine is fresh, vibrant, soft, lush, chocolatey and packed with ripe berries. Give it a few years in the cellar and it will really start to shine. Drink from 2024-2038.  93

Love the soft grilled cedar notes on the opening beats, coming in waves and drawing you in. Sweet damson and blackberry on the palate, elegant, pared back, fresh acidities, touches of earth, black truffle, liquorice and cocoa bean, gentle but compelling. Subtle persistency, the pulses of flavour keep on coming without overwhelming the palate. Excellent stuff from the Quinn family and director Stephen Carrier. Consultant Thomas Duclos.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 de Fieuzal rolls sensuously out of the glass with compelling scents of baked blackcurrants, redcurrant jelly and wild blueberries followed by wafts of red roses, star anise, freshly ground coffee and tapenade. The medium-bodied palate is laden with loads of wonderfully subtle black fruit and perfumed flavors plus invigorating exotic spice sparks, supported by velvety tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing long and multi-layered.

The 2019 Fieuzal is expressive and layered. Dried herbs, lavender, sage, mint and crème de cassis come together in a rich and powerful wine that stops short of being too unctuous or overdone. A wine of terrific balance, the 2019 is classy, understated and polished; it is not terribly complex but it certainly is very pleasing.

The 2019 Château De Fieuzal showed beautifully and should be the finest wine I've tasted from this estate (admittedly, I haven't tasted much). Deep purple-colored with a gorgeous bouquet of blackcurrants, spiced cherries, unsmoked tobacco, chocolate, and gravelly earth, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It's beautifully done and I suspect will be a hidden gem in the vintage.

The 2019 de Fieuzal, tasted from two sample bottles, has a clean and pure bouquet with perfumed, quite floral scents that infuse the blackberry and bilberry. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, saline in the mouth and spicier than some of its fellow Pessac-Léognans. Moderate depth, a distinct marine influence emerges towards the finish that lingers nicely. Could it have been better with more flair? Maybe, but it's a fine de Fieuzal.

Fieuzal 2019 offre un nez d'une très grande qualité aromatique. Complexe, frais avec des notes de cerise noire, de myrtille, de framboise. Floral également. La bouche allie la tension avec une texture charnue, une finesse en rapport avec son terroir et des notes légèrement fumées et fruits noirs. Ce millésime fera date dans l'histoire de la propriété par son côté dense et tendu, frais et complexe. Une véritable référenc pour les années à venir. Peut-être le plus abouti.

Dark ruby in color, with smoky dark red fruits, cassis and licorice at its core, the wine is soft, elegant, fruity and fresh with ripe, polished tannins and a juicy, sweet, dark red fruit and cocoa finish. Give this at least 5 years before pulling a cork. 91-93 Pts
