Pale, bright yellow. Reticent but pure aromas of lemon, crushed stone, violet and lavender. Locked up tight on the palate, showing near-painful flavors of citrus peel, crushed stone and vanilla. This very shy and youthfully disjointed wine probably needs 15 years in the cellar to harmonize and express itself. (93+ points)

A blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon, just picked in the morning to keep the freshness of the fruit, about 2-3 barrels each morning. The nose is very attractive, takes time to get going in the glass, but develops some lovely, very subtle, tropical aromas with apricot and white peach. The palate is very well balanced with apple, a touch of white peach and passion fruit, all with an undertow of minerality and tension. Very good length, very sophisticated. Excellent. Tasted September 2008.

Bright, pale, green-tinged yellow. Explosively sappy, perfumed nose offers fresh apricot, grapefruit peel, flowers and spices. Dense yet weightless in the mouth, with wonderfully silky sweetness to the gripping flavors of lemon, flowers and spices. A wine of almost painful intensity and sappy cut. This saturates the mouth with chewy fruit and perfume, finishing with an exotic suggestion of coconut. The blend includes an unusually high 90% sauvignon blanc, as there was a lower semillon crop than usual. Aging in about 40% new oak.

Un peu réduit au départ mais donnant à l’air des arômes d’une merveilleuse complexité, corps très strict, dense, acidité parfaitement équilibrée au corps et au niveau d’alcool, sensation de pureté et d’élégance le classant à part, et surtout finale plus complexe et précise que la plupart de ses pairs, vraiment irradiante comme diraient nos amis italiens. Encore une fois une référence !

Water white! Catty, straight Sauvignon Blanc aromas. Lightweight but easy and flinty. Nothing to complain about but nothing to really get your teeth into either. Very dry austere finish. Maybe this just needs a lot of time! Clean and dry…. This wine could be said to be the dry white Figeac in that it so often needs far more time to show well than the primeur circus allows. 16++

Coming after Carbonnieux Blanc and Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc, this is far more restrained and neutral on the nose although it does have an engaging river stone quality to it. The palate is very harmonious, relatively introverted and focusing more on the tension and poise than outright Tropicana! Hints of orange-blossom and citrus lemon with faint touches of peach towards the finish. Very focused on the finish. Giving less now but this should be wonderful after bottling. Tasted April 2008.
