The 2022 Couhins Blanc, a blend of 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Sauvignon Gris, is showing well today, evoking aromas of white fruits, lemon, lemon peel, spring flowers and fennel. Medium to full-bodied, juicy and enrobing, it's fresh and lively with a perfumed mid-palate that segues into a long, mouthwatering finish.

A hidden gem of a wine that doesn't get the recognition it deserves, the 2022 Château Couhins Blanc is 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Sauvignon Gris brought up in 18% new barrels, with the balance in used oak and tank. Bright citrus, honeyed lime, mint, sappy flowers, and chalky minerality all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, with gorgeously clean acidity and a great finish. Savvy readers should snatch up this ripe, voluptuous, sensationally layered, textured, complex white. It's always hard to predict how these concentrated dry whites will age, yet this should benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it still drinking beautifully at age 20.

This majors on exotic fruits, nectarine and peach, with attractive textural elements, notably slate and pumice to balance out the opulence. Alcohols are a little high to retain typicity for a white Bordeaux, certainly as they come across in an abrupt finish. The vintage fingerprint is here, compared to the successful red iin 2022 from this estate.

Clear, pure and mineral with sour cream, white fruit and a touch of gooseberries. Medium-bodied on the palate, this has fresh medium acidity. Dissolved yet grainy in texture with a lengthy finish. Drink now.

The 2022 Couhins Blanc is superb, especially in the way it balances its brisk, saline character with notable mid-palate depth. White flowers, citrus peel, white pepper, sage and mint are all beautifully delineated. Intensely saline, mineral undertones support the persistent finish. This is commendable.

Green apple, green pepper, elderflower, lime and lemon pith. Sharp and mouthwatering, a burst of citrus fruit and lemon peel then moves towards peach flesh and apricot. Round with lots of energy and appeal. Harvest 22 August - 1 September. Aged eight months. Barrel fermentation. Derenoncourt consultants.

I was blown away by the quality of the 2022 Château Couhins Blanc, and I'd put this beauty up with the crème de la crème of the vintage. A blend of 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Sauvignon Gris, it has a vibrant nose of bright citrus, honeyed flowers, chalky minerality, and spice. Tight, focused, and incredibly precise on the palate, it brings considerable richness and concentration while staying clean, light on its feet, and elegant. This is a "wow" white – bravo to the team here!

Pineapple, green apples, tea leaves, ginger, and spice create the complex set of aromatics. Creamy, fresh and fruity, with a sweet, white peach, and citrus oriented palate, along with a spicy endnote and a touch of crushed stone on the backend, this is going to be delicious on release. The wine blends 95% Sauvignon Blanc with 5% Sauvignon Gris. Drink from 2023-2032.

The 2022 Couhins Blanc reveals an abundance of peach, citrus, pear, anise and spring flowers, overlaid by nuances of spices and fennel. Medium-bodied, bright and incisive, the palate is nicely balanced with a long, salty and penetrating finish. This is reliably one of the better white wines of Bordeaux these days, and it deserves to be better know.

This is so attractive with spiced lemon, exotic spice and floral undertones. Tropical. Bright minerality. Medium- to full-bodied. So juicy and chalky. Impressive energy and length.
