This is a beautifully pure and bright Clos des Jacobins with a purple theme throughout. The nose is violet-tinged, the juiciness is clean and resonant, and there are no green notes or indeed oaky tones that stick out. Smooth and elegant the fruit glides across the palate, and the experience is medium-weight, forward-drinking and delightfully balanced. 17

The 2021 Clos des Jacobins is a pretty, mid-weight Saint-Émilion. Bright red cherry fruit, cedar, spice, tobacco and blood orange lend quite a bit of energy throughout. Pretty floral top notes reappear on the finish. This is nicely done.

Der Gaumen ist lebhaft, zeigt Schwung und Rasse, knackig in der Frucht, gute Tanninqualität, die Säure belebt, wirkt aktuell noch etwas wild, doch das dürfte sich mit weiterem Ausbau legen.
