Beautifully delineated and nuanced, the 2014 is all about precision. Sweet floral overtones meld into new leather, spices and blue/purplish hued fruits in a sexy St.-Emilion with plenty to recommend it. The blend is 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Hubert de Boüard is the consulting winemaker.
The Wine Cellar Insider 88-90 / 100 par Jeff Leve le 05/05/2015 Medium-bodied, soft and sweet with dark red fruit and chocolate character, this wine has a forward personality. 88-90 Pts
Wine Advocate 87-89 / 100 par Neal Martin le 30/04/2015 The Clos des Jacobins 2014 offers easygoing, open-knit red cherry and strawberry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, nicely balanced with a simple but pretty, cedar-tinged finish. This is not a long term Saint Emilion, but it is nicely crafted.
Asian Palate 90 / 100 par Jeannie Cho Lee MW le 20/04/2015 Generous and full bodied with ripe plum and crunchy blackberry. Tannins are sumptuous and generous with good finish. A well-crafted Saint-Emilion.
Ripe and round on the palate. Finely honed tannins. Good length. Drink: 2019-2030 (88)
Jancis Robinson 16,5 / 20 le 13/04/2015 Lively crimson. Fresh sandpaper aromas with nice fresh fruit. Red currants and flowers. Open and relatively easy and not overworked. Drink 2022-2032
Jamessuckling.com 90-91 / 100 par James Suckling le 10/04/2015 A firm and refined red with plum and dried fruit character. Medium body, fine tannins and a clean finish. Tight and attractive as usual.
17/20 2020 – 2037
