The 2018 Clos Floridène Blanc is an absolute delight to taste. Bright and airy, with effusive aromatics, the 2018 is just gorgeous. Orchard fruit, lemon oil, mint, sage and a hint of nutmeg are some of the many notes that grace this polished, refined white from the Dubourdieu family. The 2018 has come together nicely since I last tasted it.

After my lukewarm reaction from barrel, the 2018 Clos Floridene Blanc still does not convince on the nose, missing the precision and personality that I have encountered in previous years. The palate is slightly better, offering tinned peach, grapefruit and melon notes, but this is just not one of my favorite vintages.

Bouquet élégant, harmonieux avec une belle symbiose entre l'élevage, l'expression fruitée et la minéralité. En bouche le vin affiche autant d'harmonie qu'au nez ; il est friand, fruité, juteux et racé. Finale fruitée et persistante. Un vin invitant, convaincant et abouti.

The 2018 Clos Floridene Blanc is one of my favourite white dry Bordeaux, yet the bouquet here is a bit smudged and lacks definition. The palate is rounded on the entry with apricot and red apples, segueing into a mango-tinged finish that is better than the aromatics.

The 2018 Clos Floridene is deep garnet-purple colored with a nose of bright black and red fruits, cassis, meats and woodsmoke. The medium to full-bodied palate is chewy with a savory finish.
