This leans into the vintage with a certain delicacy and light touch. Sappy acidity, crisp red fruit with some herbal and dried spice aspects as well as an enjoyable chalkiness on the finish. Cool and calm, a touch shy right now, clean and delicate, fragrant, unfussy and not pushed too hard, but will no doubt put on a bit of weight during ageing.

Deep garnet-purple colored. Has delicate scents of red cherries and raspberries plus nuances of fragrant soil and wild sage. The light to medium-bodied palate is elegant and refreshing with a red berry lift on the finish.

Based on 68% Merlot and 32% Cabernet Franc, the 2024 Château Chauvin displays a deep plum color and offers darker cherries, mulberries, spicy wood, and classic Saint-Émilion minerality. It's medium-bodied, has a focused, elegant mouthfeel, integrated tannins, and the juicy yet clean, integrated acidity of the vintage. It has outstanding potential. Tasted twice.

The 2024 Chauvin has a clean and pure bouquet with black cherry and light raspberry fruit aromas alongside neatly integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins. It's firm in the mouth with a touch of bitterness on the finish. The 2024 doesn't quite have the "flow" of other vintages but hopefully this will knit together during its élevage.

The 2024 vintage of Château Chauvin is a wine of petite frame and restrained aroma. Despite its modest complexity, it achieves a beautifully balanced palate, with a distinct acidity that elongates the wine’s structure. Sandstone vineyards often struggle to convey richness in rainy vintages, but Château Chauvin has maintained a defined outline, thanks to precise harvesting and meticulous extraction. Given its gentle and reserved character, it is best enjoyed within the first five years after bottling, allowing it to fully express its true nature.

A fine wash of smoked oak, well measured, a little soft through the mid palate, but there are attractive brambled red fruits here, with raspberry leaf and peony aromatics. Captures the potential elegance of the vintage, no need to wait too long to begin drinking. Highest proportion to date of Cabernet Franc in the blend. Cazes-Regimbeau family, 17.5ha, Jérmémie Gravier technical director, 45% new oak for ageing, harvest September 24 to October 4.
