Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Moulin Haut-Laroque rocks up with open-knit plum preserves, blueberry pie and kirsch scents plus touches of truffles and pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, the palate is laden with juicy black fruits with a plush texture and wonderfully pure finish. Drinking Window : 2020 - 2031

The 2017 Moulin Haut-Laroque offers good persistence, if not quite the finesse it showed from barrel, especially in the tannins, which are a bit firm. Sweet tobacco, incense, wild flowers, spice and red plum open up with time in the glass. Drink this pleasantly hearty Fronsac over the next handful of years. Tasted two times.

This has vibrant aromas of ripe dark plums and blackberries with earthy, woody complexity. The palate has attractive, fleshy fruit that sits open and approachable. Drink or hold.

Lots of spice, graphite, and assorted red and black fruits define the 2017 Château Moulin Haut Laroque. It’s medium-bodied, has nicely integrated acidity, and solid mid-palate depth, which isn’t a given in the vintage. It should benefit from a year or two in bottle and keep through 2027.

The 2017 Moulin Haut-Laroque offers lovely depth and density in a polished, understated style. Raspberry jam, menthol, licorice, cinnamon and rose petal develop in the glass. Medium in body, but very persistent, the 2017 is impeccable.

Smoke, espresso, licorice and cherry notes on the nose move right through to the fresh, soft, round, sweet and fruity finish. You can enjoy this young but a few years will allow the oak to better integrate with the wine.

The 2017 Moulin Haut-Laroque offers a floral bouquet, rose petal scents infusing the wild strawberry and crushed raspberry aromas, a little vanilla emerging later on. The palate is medium-bodied with plush tannin, good depth if just missing some tension towards the finish. It starts well but just loses a bit of quality towards the finish.
