The 2013 Larrivaux offers light blackberry and briary scents on the nose, perhaps a little dusty at the moment, tertiary in style. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly raw tannin, black fruit to the fore but missing some depth on the straightforward finish. Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Soft and round with light intensity fruit, no noticeable tannins and herbaceous berries on the attack and mid-palate, this inconsequential, but pleasant Haut-Medoc is best consumed over the next 4-5 years.

Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte, Granatschimmer am Rand. Für einen Cru dieses Niveaus erstaunlich tiefgründig, dunkle Pflaumen SchYolade, Edelhölzer. Im Gaumen saftig, elegant mit erstaunlich viel Charme, aromatisch nachklingend mit beginnendem Tabaktouch. Eine spannende Ausgangslage, sodass es sich lohnt, sich hier nach früheren, grossen Jahrgängen umzusehen. Also im Bereich: Viel Bordeaux für wenig Geld.
