The 2018 Larmande has a perfumed bouquet with red cherry and boysenberry fruit laced with sweet fig. It just lacks the delineation of the best Saint-Émilions. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, mulberry and blackberry fruit with a slightly static finish that feels a bit short.

Fin et expressif avec une jolie vibration de fruit. Entrée en bouche évasée. Corps au volume généreux qui prend appui sur un tanin fruité de belle facture. 
Finale au diapason, d'une bonne intensité.

Easily the most concentrated vintage of Chateau Larmande ever produced, the licorice, espresso and dark red berries really shine. The wine has much more depth than usual. The round finish is all about the ripeness in the fruits this year.

The 2018 Larmande is blended of 81% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it reveals wild blueberries, black raspberries and kirsch scents followed by Chinese five spice and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate bursts with vibrant black fruits plus loads of spicy sparks and a velvety frame, finishing with great freshness.

Smoothly textured, the wine is already well integrated in its flavors of spice and sweet berry fruits. Light touches of acidity and attractive spice meld well with the fruit in this wine.
