Aromas of fresh blueberries, currants, crushed raspberries, tobacco leaves, lemon zest, cocoa and oyster shells. It’s medium-bodied with fine, precise tannins. Supple and silky with excellent freshness. One third aged in terracotta amphora. 90% cabernet sauvignon and 10% merlot. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Try from 2025.

The 2019 Durfort-Vivens is a polished, sophisticated wine. The 2019 was fermented in a combination of vat and amphora. Today, the wine feels a bit light. It will be interesting to see if it fills out a bit more during élevage. The 2019 is among 2/3ds in new oak and 1/3rd in terracotta. Inky dark fruit, grilled herbs, lavender, pine, spice notes and a range of string Cabernet inflections are some of the signatures. The 2019 is a wine built more on energy and persistence than on overt textural depth, as was the case in the 2018.

A super natural red with blackberries and blackcurrants, as well as black chocolate and hints of cedar. Partially made in amphora. It’s long, very flavorful, rich and pure. New classic. From biodynamically grown grapes.

Closed to smell, but also fragrant and subtlymineral-infused; elegant midweight, fresh and
finely tannic; Cabernet blackcurrant to taste, and with a clear, fine Cabernet complexity; subtly juicy, gently fleshy, very Margaux in its finesse and purity of texture, long and graceful and witha fine fruit-fragrant finish. Relatively delicate, but classy, classic, restrained Margaux. Not a big wine, but everything is here for a lovely, complete, 2nd growth.
