The 2015 Blanc Sec from Doisy Daene has a crisp and vibrant bouquet with citrus fruit, yellow flowers and light granite-like aromas, all very focused and conveying a sense of energy. The palate is well balanced with a touch of rosewater on the entry, quite saline toward the finish with a touch of bitter lemon. This is such a fascinating dry white Sauternes—a superb wine. Anticipated maturity: 2018 - 2028.

This has nice intensity, with bright verbena, green plum and mirabelle plum notes streaking ahead, backed by more flattering persimmon and creamed yellow apple flavors. A bitter citrus thread gives the finish tension. Nicely done, in the fresher style. Best from 2020 through 2035. 3,167 cases made.  –JM

A very fresh and elegant style, but this is no lightweight. Rather, it’s got a long, very focused finish with some minerality that’s really uplifting. I love the bright candied-lemon character on the nose. This is already beautifully balanced, but only just beginning to open up. Should keep for several decades if properly cellared.

Lovely and lifted. More acidity than many but really rather beautiful and fresh. Clean and fresh as a mountain stream. Polished. Very different style from Ch Coutet – lighter and fresher – but very good.

Très joli premier coup de nez, subtil, profond. On a des notes d’agrumes, de fruit, mais de très belles notes florales également. Bouche ciselée, à l’équilibre très réussi, dans la pureté d’expression du millésime. Finale vive, sur les agrumes. Grand style !

Very lemony and floral, with precise, delicate aromas and flavours of citrus and saffron. A gentle wine – almost dainty in fact – and very pure, with lipsmacking acidity. Denis Dubourdieu said he won’t likely keep this in barrique for longer than 12 months.2020-2035

The 2015 Doisy-Daene has a detailed bouquet, very correct, nothing showy or flamboyant as is typical of Denis Dubourdieu's Barsac. The palate is extremely well balanced and very pure: citrus fruit infusing the honeyed botrytis, veins of white peach and quince, leading to a very precise and sustained finish that leaves you with a smile on your face...and the wine ain't even finished yet! Just a wonderful wine - full of class and nascent joie-de-vivre. Chapeau Denis! Drink 2019-2050

Vivid and beautifully textured in the glass, the 2015 Doisy Daëne simply exudes class. Apricot, orange peel, spice, wild flowers and hints of sweet oak vanillin shape this generous, deeply expressive Sauternes. Even with all of its intensity and depth, the 2015 remains pliant, supple and light on its feet. The 2015 is a striking Doisy-Daëne endowed with pedigree to burn.

Mittleres Gelb, lindengrüne Nuancen darin, leuchtend. Fein pfeffrige Botrytis im gelbfruchtigen Nasenbild, zeigt eine schöne Pfirsichnote. Saftiger, cremiger Gaumen, hat so einen tollen Charme, zeigt Reichtum und wirkt als Barsac extrem füllig. Ich verkostete ihn mehrere Male und einmal im direkten Vergleich mit allen anderen wichtigen Sauternes. Seine Klasse ist die mineralische Frische und das macht ihn so bekömmlich, dass er nicht satt macht. Dafür aber süchtig. 19/20 2020 – 2040

Wow. This is really impressive with a fabulous density and style. So much mushroom, almond and dried apple, apricot character. Fresh and bright. Joyous.
