The 2014 Bel-Air Cuvée Jean Gabriel is ripe, juicy and forward. Raspberry jam, flowers, mint and sweet red cherry are laced together in a silky, perfumed wine that speaks to finesse above all else. The 2014 is racy, gracious and medium in body, with ripe tannins and terrific balance in its class. There is a lot to like. The 2014 is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc vinified in concrete and aged in French oak, about 22% of which is new.

Nez sur les fruits et les épices. Cette nouvelle cuvée, issue à parts égales de merlot et de cabernet franc, démontre un véritable caractère. Vineux et ferme, le vin intégre sans problème une touche de noble rusticité.

The Château Bel-Air "Jean & Gabriel" 2014 is an equal blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot specifically from older vines. It has a light, candied bouquet with kirsch and macerated dark cherries that needs to demonstrate more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, good acidity but it feels a little static on the finish. I suspect this will show better by the time of bottling.

Well made Lussac Saint-Emilion with ripe dark fruit flavors with spices and hint of mint and pomegranate. Lively flavors that are well made and supple on the mid-palate. Enjoy fairly young.
