Vinous 91 par Neal Martin le 01/02/2026 The 2023 Chasse-Spleen has a very promising bouquet that is well-defined with black fruit, cedar and tobacco scents, less floral than it showed from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with black fruit, black pepper and tobacco notes, just tapering away marginally toward the finish. But there is freshness here, and it should age well in bottle.
Jamessuckling.com 93 par James Suckling le 27/01/2026 Black currants, chocolate and cedar with an herbal undertone. The palate is medium-bodied, chiseled and elegant, with a delicate yet consistent thread of fruit and focused tannins. 57% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 10% petit verdot and 3% cabernet franc. Approachable now with aeration and food. A lovely expression. Drink now or hold.
Jeb DUNNUCK 85-88 par Jeb Dunnuck le 13/05/2024 Sappy herbs, flowers, cedar, smoke, and a more red-fruited profile all define the 2023 Château Chasse-Spleen, a medium-bodied, juicy, focused, borderline lean Moulis. It should round into shape over the course of its élevage and drink nicely for 4-6 years, possibly longer.
The Wine Cellar Insider 89-91 par Jeff Leve le 06/05/2024 Flowers, herbs, cedar, tobacco, and red berries, shine in this medium-bodied, fresh, bright, effort, The wine is crisp, and chewy, with a chalky, firm finish. Drink from 2026-2043. 89-91 Pts.
Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux 91 par Jane Anson le 06/05/2024 Ruby red, floral and savoury Cabernet Sauvignon character dominant on the attack with cassis bud, rose stem, on the edge of underipe balanced by spiced herbs and bright autumnal fruit character with fennel, marzipan, raspberry leaf, austere tannins on the finish. 40% new oak. 34hl/ha
Vinous 89-91 par Antonio Galloni le 30/04/2024 The 2023 Chasse-Spleen is a very pretty, aromatic Moulis. Crushed flowers, sweet red-toned fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper are all nicely lifted in this mid-weight offering Bright acids lend freshness to play off the mid-weight structure.
Vinous 91-93 par Neal Martin le 29/04/2024 The 2023 Chasse-Spleen takes time to open on the nose, gradually revealing raspberry and blackcurrant scents, touches of rose petals and freshly rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, adequate freshness and a marine-tinged finish—almost Pauillac-like in style. This is quite a stylish if almost “old-school" Chasse-Spleen that should develop well in bottle.
Falstaff 90 par Peter Moser le 29/04/2024 Dark ruby, purple reflections, brightening on the rim. Orange zest, dark berry fruit, floral nuances, some nougat, inviting bouquet. Medium body, red cherries, delicate tannins, fresh, offers uncomplicated drinking pleasure.
Wine Advocate 89-91 par William Kelley le 26/04/2024 Offering up aromas of minty cassis, dark berries and pencil shavings, the 2023 Chasse-Spleen is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and youthfully structured, with good depth at the core and a penetrating finish. It's a strong effort.
Jamessuckling.com 92-93 par James Suckling le 25/04/2024 This is structured and a little tight, with good concentration and volume. It’s medium-bodied with juicy and vibrant fruit coming through. Velvety tannins. Firm and fresh at the end.
