Coming from the blue clay plateau and based on equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Château Bel-Air (Lussac Saint-Emilion) was aged 18 months in 33% new French oak with the balance in one- and two-year-old barrels. Solid ripe black cherries, graphite, tobacco, and spicy wood all emerge from this parcel selection, and it's medium-bodied and focused on the palate, with ripe tannins and a great finish. Rich, powerful, and structured, it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise over the following decade. Drink 2028-2038.
