The 2018 Cuvée Chloe is a blend of co-fermented Syrah (72%), Grenache (21%) and Viognier (7%), aged in 60% new French oak, 20% one-year-old French oak and 20% amphora. Vibrant ruby-purple, it has a gorgeous perfume of pure violet, tar, cassis and crushed blue fruits with notes of bitter chocolate and mint. The palate is full-bodied, firmly framed and packed with perfumed fruits, and it finishes with great freshness to carry the lingering floral notes. Give it another 3-5 years in bottle. 300 cases were made.

The 2018 Cuvée Chloe, a co-fermented blend of 72% Syrah, 22% Grenache and 6% Viognier, is aging in amphorae and new oak. The wine from amphorae is going through a bit of a reductive phase, but from new oak it offers up cassis, red berry jam, pepper, milk chocolate, dusty earth and amaro notes. The palate is full-bodied with very detailed tannic structure, juicy acidity and a long finish. This is showing lovely layers already.

I think a step up over the For Her release, the 2018 Chloe reminds me of the 2012 with its purity and elegance paired with plenty of power. Based on 72% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and 6% Viognier, it offers a heavenly bouquet of crème de cassis, liquid violets, charcoal, incense, and graphite. Possessing full-bodied richness, flawless balance, and polished tannins, it's one of those rare wines to blend incredible power with incredible ele-gance.
