The 2014 Angelique de Monbousquet has a light and slighty tertiary bouquet that needed some coaxing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite strict tannin, a fine level of acidity, not great depth towards the finish but satsifying length. As a Deuxième Vin, it does the job without any of the frills.

Aromas of berries and milk chocolate follow through to a medium body, silky tannins and a savory finish. A little short on the finish but a pretty wine. Second wine of Monbousquet.

The 2014 Angélique de Monbousquet is quite pretty in this vintage. Soft and open-knit, with good freshness, the 2014 is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Black cherry, mocha, spice and leather give the wine its dark shades of expression

The Angelique de Monbousquet, the second wine of Monbousquet, is quite supple and expressive in the glass, with lovely depth to the mocha, spice and plum flavors. Silky tannins give the open-knit finish considerable appeal. The overall flavor profile is a bit darker than in the Grand Vin, with less overall refinement. Then again, this is why second wines exist. The blend is 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Angélique de Monbousquet 2014 is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon cropped at 38 hectoliters per hectare. It is aged in 60% new oak. That oak is neatly carried on the nose that offers light sous bois and cedar scents complementing the rather sultry black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannin, good acidity, a little rustic in style like the nose, but with decent length on the cedar-tinged, saline finish. Given the vintage and that this is a second label, this is satisfactory if not stellar.

Lively plum and cherry with violets and spices. A vibrant, forward red that is juicy and ready to enjoy young. Well crafted with supple tannins and good finish.

38 hl/ha. 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark, lustrous crimson. Not much nose. Sweet but a bit spindly. Chewy but with a massive sweet veil drawn over it. Not so unlike cocoa. Refreshment factor a bit missing. 13.15%Drink 2018-2023
