The 2018 Verso de Haut-Batailley has a decadent bouquet of kirsch, crème de cassis and exotic blue fruit. Is it Bordeaux? Maybe not, but it is very seductive. The palate is sweet and opulent on the entry with (again) exotic black and blue fruit, although it is missing some acidity toward the finish, which makes me concerned about its evolution in bottle. One to enjoy in the flush of youth.
