The 2015 Lune d'Or, under Oliver Bernard's Clos des Lunes label, is a blend of 65% Semillon and 35% Sauvignon Blanc. It has a pretty lime cordial, blackcurrant leaf and rose water-scented bouquet the gently unfolds in the glass. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, quite noticeable acidity with green apple and freshly cut pear; this leads to a slight chalky, backward finish, almost Loire-like in style - a good Loire at that. Give this a couple of years in bottle. Drink 2018-2027

The 2015 Lune D'Or, Olivier Bernard's top white from Clos des Lunes, is bright, tightly wound and crystalline, with remarkable purity and precision throughout. Lune d'Or is 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc fermented in barrel, with lees stirring, but blocked malolactic fermentation. Lemon peel, white flowers and mineral notes abound in this deeply expressive, dry white.
