It has an uncomplicated nose with prominent notes of cedar and pencil lead. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant prickle on the entry from the chalky tannins. It has a fine backbone and comes across as rather gritty and masculine towards the graphite-tinged finish. The Fiefs will be fine for early to medium-term drinking. Tasted April 2012
