(90 Merlot, 10 Cabernet Franc) | 29% new oak | 14.9% alc. | 63 IPT | Harvested between 3-20 October
The nose is fully open and ripe, marked with oak, but firm and strident. There is no fleshiness or juiciness here, just total focus and momentum. The tannins are sweet and gourmand and rather than dry and hard and this gives the impression of a forward wine, but this is not entirely true. This is a rather forceful second wine and perhaps it is a little too introverted for its role in the company, but it is certainly shocking. 17+
