Château Pey La Tour Reserve - Bordeaux Superior - 2017

Réserve du Château Colour: very dense, almost black. The nose: powerful explodes in aromas of black berries (cherries, blackberries…) accompanied by a touch of spices. The mouth: very ample and full, is structured by fine and silky tannins enveloped throughout the tasting by a juicy and fresh fruit. The woodiness, delicately blended, accompanies the savory and persistent finish of this superb Pey La Tour Réserve dense, fleshy and greedy.

Château Pey La Tour Reserve - Bordeaux Superior - 2017

Seduced by the richness of this vineyard whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, Dourthe bought the property in 1990. For 25 years, “redesigned” viticulture has been applied to the entire vineyard, respecting the terroir and the vineyard to obtain an optimal quality of the grapes. The rigorous viticultural work allows a significant spreading out of the harvest to harvest the grapes only as they reach their optimum maturity. The Réserve du Château, which expresses the particular quality of the greatest terroirs, is aged for 12 to 14 months in the barrel cellar adjoining the vat room. The results of this work are now rewarded both by the loyalty of customers and by the praise of the press and place Château Pey La Tour beyond its appellation, as a benchmark for affordable great wine. The 2016 vintage: The first half of 2016 was particularly rainy and mild, constituting excellent water reserves which will prove very useful to the vineyard thereafter. In fact, the sun sets in for a long time from mid-June with very dry weather until the end of the harvest. These good water reserves associated with temperatures that are not excessive during the day but very cool at night, contribute to the favorable development of the fruit and its aromas during ripening. The harvest of Merlot, the vast majority, is spread out quietly until October 16. It delivers intense color and velvety tannins. Cabernet-Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, harvested late on October 19, are dense and structured. They take full advantage of the beautiful Indian summer.
