A powerful, explosive wine, the 2014 Montlandrie boasts notable depth and intensity. Sweet black cherries, mocha, smoke, tobacco, licorice, menthol and tar burst onto the palate. There is plenty of density in the glass, but the silky tannins help balance some of the slightly rustic elements that come through from time to time. The blend is 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

5% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon produced a wine with a deep color coupled with floral, boysenberry and cocoa sensations. Lush, fat and sweet, this is only the second vintage for Denis Durantou in the Cotes de Castillon, yet, it’ s easy to get what he’s aiming for, with its plush, rich textures and ripe, sweet fruits. 90-91

The Château Montlandrie 2014, Denis Durantou’s Côtes de Castillon vineyard, is a blend of 90% Merlot picked September 24-29 and 10% Cabernet Franc picked October 23-24. Matured in 50% new oak, it has a generous bouquet that takes its time to get going in the glass, eventually revealing blackberry and briary scents. The palate is medium-bodied with just the right amount of fleshiness here to balance the chalky tannins; mulberry and white pepper vivifying the finish. This is a subtle Montlandrie, one imbued with Durantous’s art.

75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 50 % new oak. Castillon had half the rain of Libournais.
Very dark. Very sumptuous and likely to be VGV. Explosive and very vibrant.

A well made Cotes red with nice substance and depth - tannins are beautifully handled with supple, smooth texture and no rough edges. Good length and balance made for fairly early consumption. Delicious wine.

A Denis Durantou (l'Eglise-Clinet) wine.Generous dark fruit on the nose and palate. Firm tannins in behind but softened by the fruit. Minerally edge. Touch of oak on the finish. Drink: 2018-2024 (88)

Toll gemacht! Gehört zum Besitz von Denis Durantou (Eglise-Clinet). 17/20 2020 – 2034

Features a lively mix of bramble, cassis bush and savory notes weaving around a core of blueberry and plum fruit. The bramble accent gives the finish solid
grip.
