This is a traditional red with strawberry leaves, lemon rind and wet earth. Very aromatic. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a fruity, chocolate and walnut character. Always refined yet powerful. Better in 2022.

Bright red cherry, raspberry and expressive floral notes from the Cabernet Franc are some of the signatures in the 2014 Latour à Pomerol. A wine of precision, tension and energy, the 2014 exudes class. Hints of white pepper and cranberry add further brightness as the wine gradually opens up. The 2014 has become more polished and finessed over the last two years than it was from barrel. Today, it is sublime.

Very solid, with a core of crushed raspberry, blackberry and plum fruit infused with shaved vanilla bean and licorice root notes. Has a slightly brambly feel overall, delivering a tug of dark earth through the finish that imparts muscle. Energetic, and will cellar well. Best from 2020 through 2030.—J.M.

The 2014 Latour a Pomerol is dark, seamless and impeccably balanced. Nothing is out of place. Rich and ample on the palate, with notable breadth, the 2014 is striking in its beauty. Black cherry, raspberry jam, spice, new leather and cedar add shades of complexity on the creamy, resonant finish. Even with its obvious size, the 2014 remains remarkably polished, not to mention incredibly appealing.

Fresh black raspberries and floral aromas to start, this wine is medium bodied and graceful on the palate. Despite its finish of freshness and ripe scarlet fruits, it lacks the outstanding concentration found in recent vintages like 2009 and 2010. 89-90 Pts

The Château Latour à Pomerol 2014 has a more substantial bouquet compared to the La Grave à Pomerol, still quite masculine and tertiary in style, but with more fruit intensity coming through, hints of gravel and truffle. The palate is medium-bodied with quite fine tannin, noticeable acidity, moderate depth and a linear, focused finish that refuses to fan out as it would have done in a more propitious season. This should be a "stately" Pomerol, one that will be forgivably austere.

A beautiful, sensual wine in 2014 with sweet red berries and ripe plummy fruit. Lovely sweetness in this vintage that offers layers of delicate flavors. This is not a big wine with power and lots of concentration but one of finesse and delicacy and plenty of juicy, sweet fruit.

From JP Moueix. Reliable as usual. Dark and red berry aromas. Lovely fruit expression on the palate. Medium bodied, round and supple. Finely grained tannins. Extraction well handled. Drink: 2019-2029 (89)

Rich and dense – quite a contrast to the more transparent La Grave tasted immediately before. Powerful, savoury and meaty. Lots of acidity and tannins with the fruit only just retaining the upper hand. Big and bold and with lovely texture. Very savoury, dense wine. Brooding.

Plenty of fruit in this subtle young wine with blackberry, cherry and wet earth character. Full-bodied, chewy and long. Lively acidity on the finish.

Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Vielschichtiges, fast etwas verspieltes Bouquet, feine Cassisanflüge, Veilchennoten, mittlerer Druck. 17/20 2020 – 2036

92–94. Barrel Sample. Powerful and structured, this wine is dark and concentrated. It has dense tannins cut by acidity and filled with ripe black plums. Already delicious, it will also age well over the medium-term.

A nice wine in the making, with velvety layers of raspberry, plum and boysenberry fruit, lined with subtle charcoal, warm
ganache and tar notes. Features ample base notes, but manages to stay suave and elegant through the dark finish,
revealing serious buried grip.
