A sleeper of the vintage, the 2008's tiny production resulted from yields of 22 hectoliters per hectare. This 1,000-case cuvee is a blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Chocolate, coffee, licorice, pain grille, black currant and cherry notes emerge from this dark ruby/purple-tinged, medium to full-bodied wine. Drink it over the next 6-8 years. Drink 2011-2019

Une robe de couleur rubis-grenat sombre avec des reflets de jeunesse et du violet autour des bords. Bouquet de griotte confite, d'orange et de mûres, avec de fines nuances d'aromates. Vif et frais en bouche, bien structuré, avec des saveurs juteuses de fruits des bois et des tanins bien intégrés. De fins arômes de nougat en finale et un arrière-goût de baies noires.

Incredibly low yields of 22 hectoliters per hectare, and a blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc that achieved 13.5% natural alcohol, have resulted in plenty of chocolaty black cherry and blackberry fruit, medium to full body, good acids, and sweet tannin. This serious Lalande de Pomerol is best consumed over the next 7-10 years.
