The 2021 Corbin is a very pretty Saint-Émilion. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, spice, cinnamon, cedar, new leather and tobacco give the 2021 lovely aromatic presence to match its understated, mid-weight personality. This is all class.

The 2021 Corbin matured in some 20% new oak, a few old barrels, cement tanks and wine globes. Unwinding in the glass with a gently reductive bouquet of wild berries, spices, petals and vine smoke, it's medium-bodied, supple and charming, in a perfumed, middle-weight style.

Blackcurrants, dark cherries, bay leaves and basil on the nose, with some walnut husk and chestnut undertones. It’s full-bodied and compact, with firm tannins. Solid and pleasantly earthy. Better after 2025.

Ruby-rose in colour, no more than medium bodied, with the emphasis on fresh fragrant fruits,. There is a sweetness to it as it opens through the mid palate, with red cherry, cola, cigar, tomato leaf, violet, orange peel and a jucy finish. Delicate, finely boned tannins, capturing the scultped quality of the vintage in the right hands. Annabelle Cruse owner, Jean-Luc Thunevin consultant. Cabernet Franc aged in wine globes, Merlot in barrel. Not tasted En Primeur.
