From vines just across the border of Margaux (and the château), the 2023 Le Haut-Medoc De Giscours is based on 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc and was raised in 50% new French oak. Deep plum/purple-hued, it offers crunchy black cherries, black raspberries, graphite, sandy smoky tobacco, and some background sappy herbs. Medium-bodied, focused, and juicy, it has elegant, fine tannins and a great finish. Drink this solid effort over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2035.
