From vines just across the border of Margaux (and the château), the 2023 Le Haut-Medoc De Giscours is based on 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc and was raised in 50% new French oak. Deep plum/purple-hued, it offers crunchy black cherries, black raspberries, graphite, sandy smoky tobacco, and some background sappy herbs. Medium-bodied, focused, and juicy, it has elegant, fine tannins and a great finish. Drink this solid effort over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2035.

The 2023 Haut-Médoc de Giscours is a very pretty, elegant wine. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, cinnamon, blood orange and a hint of cedar give this fragrant, mid-weight offering tons of charm. A dollop (10%) of Cabernet Franc works so well in lifting the aromatics and lending notable brightness. The 2023 is impeccably done—a charming Haut-Médoc to drink over the next decade or so.

The 2023 Haut-Médoc Giscours has a pretty nose, a mixture of black and blueberry fruit, just a touch of violet coming through with time. The palate is just slightly metallic on the entry at the moment, quite sharp in style and needs just a bit more flesh to round out the finish. Drink over three to four years.

A fruity nose with some sweet cherries, mulberries and a nice herbal touch. Medium-bodied with dusty, soft-grained tannins and a supple, expressive finish. A blend of 56% cabernet sauvignon, 34% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Already lovely now.

Juicy black cherries, violets, chocolate, and some leafy herb notes all make an appearance in the 2023 Le Haut-Médoc De Giscours, a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, textured Haut-Médoc based on 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc. It has good ripeness, fine tannins, and solid length, all making for a satisfying, well-made wine.

The 2023 Haut-Médoc de Giscours is a potent, deep wine. Dark red-toned fruit, spice, rose petal and lavender open with some coaxing, but its textural depth impresses most. This is a fine showing. The low yields of the year very much come through in the wine’s resonance and overall feel. Bright acids and floral top notes brighten the finish. Tasted two times.

The 2023 Haut-Médoc Giscours has a perfumed nose with violet-tinged blueberry fruit, just a touch of cassis lingering in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh entry and a touch of graphite infusing the black fruit. It’s compact toward the finish and just needs to develop a little more persistence. Fine.
