The 2018 Citran has a relatively light, marine-tinged bouquet, traits of seaweed and oyster shell infusing the rather diffuse scents. The palate is medium-bodied with good structure, although overall this is missing some complexity and feels a little monotone on the finish. Citran can make excellent wines, but I need to be convinced that the 2018 is one of them.

Tobacco and cherry fruit in the front end, and crisp bright, red fruit on the back end is what you will find here in this medium- bodied, lean wine.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Citran is a touch mute to begin, unfurling to offer very pretty notes of warm raspberries, fresh blackcurrants and kirsch over nuances of potpourri, chocolate box and crushed stones. Full-bodied with fantastic freshness lifting the intense red and black fruit layers, it has a firm, grainy frame and a long, perfumed finish. Nice!

This is a dense wine that strikes a fine balance between the wood aging and the ripe fruit flavors. Its bright acidity and fresh black currant tone are lively and crisp, while there's plenty of weight to give this longevity.

Attractive core of ripe fruit with currant and chocolate character and just a hint of hazelnut. Medium body, round tannins and a flavorful finish.
