 The Girolate 2015 Blanc felt a little too simple on the nose compared to its peers. The palate is rounded on the entry with a light Muscat tinge and a crisp line of acidity with a rounded, lightly honeyed, praline-tinged finish. I was hoping for a little more in bottle, but it will still give 4 or 5 years of drinking pleasure. Anticipated maturity: 2018 - 2022.

The 2015 Girolate is a terrific example of the year. Forward and juicy in the glass, it exudes richness in its super-ripe red/purplish fruit. Unctuous and racy, the 2015 is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next 2-3 years, or maybe more.

The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Girolate has quite a lot of cedar to begin over a core of baked plums and cherry compote with touches of underbrush and dried Provence herbs. Firm and muscular in the medium to full-bodied mouth, it has a chewy backbone and refreshing lift on the long finish. It's still very primary and gangly but shows promise.

The nose here delivers assertive oak influence with baking spices and cedar notes laid across dark berries and plums The palate has impressive depth and richness. Nicely finished. Great length here. Best from 2020.

Produced from 100% Merlot, the wine is dark in color, with an oaky, blackberry, cocoa, licorice and chocolate character. Concentrated, round and lush, there is a definitive oak profile that is not going to please everyone.

The 2015 Girolate has attractive blackberry, raspberry and cocoa scents on the nose, the oak here present but in sync with the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with toasty red berry fruit, a fine thread of acidity, and a well-balanced and harmonious finish. This assertive but well made Bordeaux should drink well for 4-6 years. Drink 2017-2021

Dark crimson and very suave indeed. Tastes rather sweet - possibly too sweet? - it's so carefully tarted up. Designed to overwhelm anyone expecting an AOC Bordeaux? Certainly attention-grabbing. Just a tad overdone for me. Drink 2021-2030
