The 2019 Clos Haut-Peyraguey is just as compelling as it was from barrel. Airy and light on its feet, the 2019 is a wine of total understatement. Passionfruit, tangerine, pineapple, mint and exotic floral notes are all laced together. A long, persistent finish rounds things out in style. Superb.

The 2019 Clos Haut-Peyraguey has a well-defined, adhesive-tinged bouquet of dried honey and yellow plum; jasmine and saffron aromas emerge with time. The palate is well-balanced, smooth and rounded, with commendable weight and flavors of peach, nectarine and vanilla. It needs a little more bite and tension on the finish, but otherwise this is very seductive.

Pale lemon-gold colored, the 2019 Clos Haut-Peyraguey prances out of the glass with notes of candied orange peel, shaved ginger, allspice and honeycomb plus suggestions of lemon marmalade and lime cordial. The palate is already beautifully poised with loads of perfumed citrus layers and just enough freshness to lift the sweet, seductive honeyed characters through the long finish.

The 2019 Clos Haut-Peyraguey is a striking Sauternes from Bernard Magrez. Pineapple, tangerine, white flowers and mint come together in a wine that is deep and rich, yet light on its feet. Understated in feel, with notable balance, moderate sweetness and tons of class, Clos Haut-Peyraguey is simply fabulous. I loved it.

93-95+ A big, decadent beauty in the making, the 2019 Clos Haut-Peyraguey is loaded with spiced peach, honeyed pineapple, orange zest, and brioche-scented aromas and flavors. It packs a punch on the palate and is beautifully concentrated yet stays nicely balanced, has good acidity, and a great finish.

The 2019 Clos Haut-Peyraguey, part of Bernard Magrez's portfolio, is quite understated at first with fragrant wild honey, Mirabelle and honeysuckle aromas emerging with time. The palate is beautifully weighted in the mouth, maybe oakier than some of its peers, though that should be assimilated with bottle age. Very fine.

This is layered and clean with dried apples, pears and peaches. Some botrytis spice at the end. Medium to full body and medium-sweet with a delicious finish.
