Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Siran features pure cassis, crushed black plums and black cherries with hints of black olives, lavender and fragrant earth. The palate is medium-bodied, firm and grainy with a muscular core and good length. Drinking Window : 2020 - 2030

The 2017 Siran has turned out beautifully. Dark and rich with tons of nuance, Siran is super expressive in 2017 in the mid-weight style of the vintage. Wild cherry, plum, dried flowers, mint, tobacco and smoke are all laced together in this pretty, inviting Margaux.

A tight, linear 2017 with compact fruit and seamless tannins that show length and beauty. Medium to full body. Lovely finish. Drinkable now, but better in 2021 and onwards.

Proche du fruit, avec des tanins d'une admirable délicatesse et une
bouche qui s'étire finement, le 2017 est un vin vraiment délicieux et
très séduisant. Il n'en reste pas moins doté d'un très beau potentiel
de garde.

Close to the fruit, with tannins of an admirable delicacy and a
mouth that stretches finely, 2017 is a really delicious and very
seductive wine. It remains nonetheless endowed with a very
good aging potential.

The 2017 Château Siran should certainly be an outstanding wine. Giving up lots of black fruits, charcoal, and graphite notes, it’s medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and with solid ripeness and depth. It’s an impressive effort from Margaux.

Prise de bois marquée (goudron), mais derrière on devine un fruit relativement mûr, expansif, vin plutôt moderne dans sa forme et son extraction, encore serré dans sa trame finale, sérieusement fait. à suivre.

The 2017 Siran is dark, powerful and super-expressive. Black cherry, chocolate, leather, licorice and smoke infuse a powerful, luscious Margaux long on class and character. There is good depth and persistence, along with enough stuffing to support many years of fine drinking. There is no shortage of personality or character. That much is obvious. Tasted three times.

Cherry blossom, licorice, espresso and ripe plums get the medium bodied wine off to a good start. It's the blend of sweet, red fruits, soft, polished tannins and acidity that create the personality. You'll be able to enjoy this while waiting for the 2015 and 2016 to mature. The wine was made from blending 46% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. The harvest took place from September 18 to October 5 and he wine reached 13.5% alcohol.

The 2017 Siran has an intense bouquet with more iris than violet aromas, crisp blackberry and bilberry fruit, a touch of menthol emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannin, crisp and focused, a little chalky in texture. This is quite structured despite the Merlot content, just a touch of firmness towards the finish that should flesh out with time in bottle. Tasted on three occasions.

The 2017 Siran is deep garnet-purple in color and scented of baked black plums, cassis and kirsch with touches of spice cake and rose hip tea. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins and plenty of juicy fruit, finishing with a pleasant bit of chew.

This is rather lovely, with excellent aromatics and fine tannins with a feeling of flex and precision. There is no question that the fruit has form and density, with focussed cassis and tobacco notes and some slate. This also lasts well on the palate. The fruit is at the fresher end of the scale, as is true across most wines in 2017, but it's clearly successful. Hubert de Boüard is consultant at this estate, owned by Edouard Miailhe with winemaker Marjolaine DeFrance. There was no frost here, and the season was two weeks ahead of normal. Harvested 19 September to 5 October.

This producer needs to be careful with the wood aging lest it smother the fruit. However, the good news is that the fruit is there, as well as fine, firm tannins. Together, they give this juicy wine great aging potential. Drink from 2024.

A beautiful red with dark berries, hints of chocolate and hot stones. Full body, tight and polished tannins and a clean finish. Well done.

Sleek, with dark cherry and plum pâte de fruit notes stretched out over a licorice thread. Offers an elegant, spice-infused finish.—J.M.
