Wine Enthusiast 90 / 100 par Roger Voss le 01/12/2016 A structured wine from the Chadronnier family, it is full of tannins and also full of sweeping black-fruit flavors. It is perfumed, rich and concentrated. Don't drink until at least 2020 to get the full generosity of the wine.
Vinous 87-89 / 100 par Antonio Galloni le 11/05/2015 The 2014 Marsau is a plump, racy wine ideally suited to informal drinking over the next few years. There is nothing fancy here, just a supple, friendly, fruit-forward red with terrific balance that delivers plenty of bang for the buck.
Wine Advocate 86-88 / 100 par Neal Martin le 30/04/2015 The Château Marsau 2014 is pure Merlot picked October 8-10, the property belonging to the Chardronnier family of négoçiants, CVBG (Dourthe). It has a lively and vivacious red cherry and vanilla-scented bouquet that has playful charm about it. The palate is well balanced with upfront fleshy ripe fruit, a keen line of acidity and decent focus on the finish. There's a bit of swagger about the Côtes de Bordeaux and it probably deserves a year or two in bottle.
Asian Palate 85 / 100 par Jeannie Cho Lee MW le 20/04/2015 Upfront plummy fruit that is simple and forward. There are plenty of juicy, dark fruit flavors to enjoy young. The tannins are a bit drying and the finish is modest.
Jamessuckling.com 89-90 / 100 par James Suckling le 10/04/2015 Soft and fruity with tar and berry character, a full body, and a juicy finish. Remake of outstanding 2012.
timatkin.com 92 / 100 par Tim Atkin MW le 07/04/2015 One of the best young wines I’ve had from this top Côtes de Francs property. Deeply coloured, highly aromatic and sweetly oaked, it has finesse and balance, stylish tannins and ripe, supple violet and raspberry fruit. A mini Pomerol? Drink: 2020-30.
Wine Spectator 88-91 / 100 par James Molesworth le 31/03/2015 The damson plum, cherry pit and bergamot notes are underscored by a fine minerality. Not big, but has lovely purity and focus.
